Our people are our greatest asset, and their health and safety are our greatest responsibility.
There’s nothing more important to us than the safety and wellbeing of our team. Our proactive and preventive approach to safety has been imbedded throughout City, where we all think safe and work safe, and get home safely at the end of the day.
We support our people to stay healthy and well with company-wide access to a wellbeing portal, a comprehensive employee assistance program, and regular health and wellbeing campaigns.
We also take a proactive approach to minimising our impact on the environment at all the sites and communities in which we work.
Health
To promote a health and wellness culture, we have a well-established health and wellbeing program which includes team events, campaigns, and resources.
We truly believe that a healthy body and a healthy mind will benefit our team members both at work and at home. We support our team to feel their best with a range of health and wellbeing initiatives, including:
- Employee Assistance Program with free access to confidential counselling and support services
- Team fundraising events such as Dry July, febfit & febfast
- Men’s Health Month initiatives
- Mental health initiatives such as R U OK? Day
- 6-week long 15-minute exercise challenge
Safety
The safety of our team and contractors is paramount and our most important value. Every team member no matter where you work or what you do is responsible for safety at City. Our team members are empowered to stop if it is not safe, and have the resources and information required to think safe, work safe and get home safely.
We start every team meeting with a Think Safe Share, a quick rundown, or reminder of an important safety message, lesson, or opportunity. This familiar ritual reflects the uncompromising and ever-present dedication to the safety of our team members and our contractors.
The Environment
Environmental stewardship is an essential part of the responsibilities and expectations of every team member. From recycling and waste management to the products and systems we use, we proactively plan all work activities to consider environmental requirements, impacts, and best practice at every stage of our service lifecycle.
We’re committed to consistently delivering a more sustainable approach to our business operations, in line with City’s and our partners’ environmental policies, expectations and undertakings.
